I want to encourage followers of Christ to realize who they are in Him: citizens of Heaven, children of God, joint heirs with Christ, and eternally secure. I also want to encourage all of us who follow Him to live in a way that reflects that truth. We are called to love God, love our neighbors, and love our enemies.
I also want to encourage those who are not yet trusting Christ to put their trust in Him. I want them to understand how deeply important that decision is—and that trusting Christ does not mean setting aside their minds or abandoning reason.
As I look back over what I have posted in the 20 years since I retired, I am surprised by how much I have written that hardly anyone knows is here. I also have many notes that still need to be cleaned up and shared. Over the years, I have encouraged others to write down what they consider important and share it with the people they care about. Lately, a friend and former student has challenged me to post something each week—a challenge she also needs as she continues writing for her own blog.
I have also restored the option for readers to post comments. I had turned that feature off because it was attracting more spam than genuine responses, but I have decided to open that door again.
So, I invite you to poke around. And I welcome comments!
Because He lives,
Gary
